A native Washingtonian, Katie Hovde graduated from Central Washington University in 2015 with her Bachelor of Arts in Music (specializing in violin performance) and her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. Her professional music career spans over 10 years with performances in over 5 professional symphonies, multiple pit orchestras, countless solo and chamber recitals. After college, Katie took an internship in the Seattle Symphony’s marketing department. This internship lead to multiple positions within the Seattle Symphony before she finally settled in the Education and Community Engagement department as the Education and Community Engagement Program Manager. In this role she managed the entire range of Seattle Symphony’s family programming as well as a robust free ticketing program called Community Connections, which partnered with over 80 community partners to provide enriching and healing musical experiences to members of the community. After the Seattle Symphony, she worked at Valley Cities Behavioral Health as Volunteer Coordinator, where she discovered her love for fundraising after she became a member of the grants research team. In August 2020 she attained a professional certification in grant writing. Outside of work, Katie is a certified yoga teacher and enjoys being outdoors with her husband Hayden, daughter Eden, and their pit-bull/boxer mix Gerald.
